Breed Information

Here you can find extra information on the four breeds of wolves that can be found in the world of Lomehedge.

Grey Wolf
The biggest breed to be found in the world of Lomehedge, grey wolves are strong and are adapted to forest regions, though they can survive elsewhere if needed. They make good warriors or other ranks that require physical strength since they are both large are strong, usually well-muscled. Their coats range from dark grey/black to shades of light grey that are almost white. Their eyes are most commonly what is known as 'true wolf gold' though they can take on a greenish ting and green-eyed grey wolves are not uncommon.

Arctic Wolf
The second largest breed to be found in the world of Lomehedge would be the arctic wolf. They are lean and adapted to colder regions though can survive elsewhere if needed. Arctic wolves are good hunters and suit any rank that requires travelling or haste since they are speedy runners. Their body is built more leanly and lithely then grey wolves and they are not thought to be as strong though some can be. Their coats are always a shade of off-white though the rare woudl be foudn to have a coat of pure white. There is no specific eye color found in this breed. Golds, greens and blues are all equally common.

Red Wolf
Though the red wolf is the second smallest breed to be found in Lomehedge they are nonetheless a strong breed and a breed to be proud of. They are adapted to no specific region though they are usually found in meadow areas. Red wolves are quite intelligent and make good pack wolves to have since they can usually be one step ahead of everyone else. They usually know quite a bit about healing but also make good hunters since they can use logic as wel to determine how the hunt shoudl proceed and which angle of attack would give the best result. Their coats are usually brown or grey tinged with the hint of red that gives them their name. Their eye color usually ranges from light hazels to dark browns. Sometimes one woudl have gold eyes but that is more rare.

Brush Wolf
The smallest breed to be found in the world of the wolves of Lomehedge, is the brush wolf. These wolves are quite small and usually the one and two year olds can still ressemble young wolves not yet out of adulthood. Most brush wolves are kind-natured and truthful and share of love of pups. They make good nurses and are quite careful and cautious in nature. Their coats range from light brown to grey and are often a mottle of different shades, all being quite close and their eye color varies depending on the family. There is no usual color of eye.

-useful for urinary tract infections

ECHINACEA

-the first choice for stimulating the immune system
-commonly taken to help prevent or speed the recovery from colds, flu and many other infections.

FENNEL

-excellent tonic for the digestive system.

FENUGREEK

-used in the treatment of sore throats

FEVERFEW

-reduces fevers
-excellent in reducing the severity of migraines and headaches

GARLIC

-perfect choice for any colds, flu or common infections

GINSENG

-aid recovery from illness, fight fatigue and strengthen the central nervous system

GOLDEN SEAL ROOT

-works on many diseases
-can be used to help almost anything

JUNIPER BERRY

-helps fluid retention and urinary tract infections.

LICORICE

-useful in the treatment of colds and flu

OREGANO LEAF

-very popular for dry, chesty coughs, bronchitis and asthma

PAUDARCO

-treats infections
-effective against some intestinal parasites

RED CLOVER

-useful to help coughs

JOHNSWORT

-helps depression

SARSAPARILLA

-good for rashes

Welcome to the world of Lomehedge, an intermediate/advanced wolf rp set in a fantasy world. Magic is not allowed but creativity is and if you enjoy role-playing or love wolves then this is a good place for you!

Lomehedge...a crumbled abbey. A once sacred, beauitiful place- now ruins, a home for wolves. To the east: the Outlands. A harsh and unforgiving place ruled by the strong. For centuries the Lomehedge and the Outlands pack have fought and grown and died, each time the pack would be started up again by new wolves- seeking to uphold the ancient glory of the two packs. Now is such a time when the packs must rebuild themselves, loners are welcomed into their midst. They are the next generation of the packs and they must make a decision: will this generation of packs be allies in the dark times approaching or will they turn to deceit, lies, warfare, murder and bloodshed like the generations before them.

The Shores - The Shores are the free lands which cannot be claimed are which are home to the loners of the world of Lomehedge. The Shores encompass:

The Outlands - The Outlands are ruled byThe Outlands Pack.

The Outlands Pack was first led by Abraham and his mate Russet. They are not 'bad guys' but they are those who live in the lands outside of the ruins of Lomehedge- to the east. They are a strong pack and they demand respect from those below them- their hierchy is a very strong factor of their society. The pack dies down every now and then until there is no one but usually another wolf will come to the lands and claim it and the Outlands Pack will be re-started. It has usually been a brute that leads the pack. Their territory encompasses:

Abraham Peak
Russet's Cave - den site

The Lomehedge Ruins - The Lomehedge Ruins are ruled by The Lomehedge Pack

The Lomehedge Pack resides in the ruins of the ancient abbey of Lomehedge. The Lomehedge Pack was first led by Erinstar and her mate, Durin. They don't care if the alpha is female or male and respect him/her no matter what. They have a strong sense of loyalty but are content living where they do. their pack works on more of a family system than that of a warclan. The pack dies down every now and then until there is no one but usually another wolf will come to the lands and claim it and the Lomehedge Pack will be re-started.Their territory encompasses:

Hiearchy

Below are all the ranks and the qualities needed for each one.

Alpha
The Alpha is the wolf who in in charge of the pack, totally. He/she takes care of the pack, appoints ranks and is always working hard to make sure everything runs smoothly. There may be two alphas if they are mates.
-Good Leadership Skills
-Able to remain calm without panicking
-Able to be in charge
-Good Hunting Skills
-Good Fighting Skills
-Intelligent
-Good Negotiation Skills
-Good at Controlling Temper
-Knows the Area well

Beta
The beta is the wolf who acts like an advisor to the alpha. He/she is second-in-command and helps give out tasks and make sure the pack runs smoothly. There may be two betas if they are mates.
-Very Loyal to the Alpha
-Intelligent
-Good Hunting Skills
-Good Fighting Skills

Elite
The Elite is comprised of two wolves- the best hunter/huntress and the best warrior. They are often called the Elite Hunter/Huntress and the Elite Warrior. The Elite Hunter/Huntress is in charge of the hunt when the alpha is not there and the Elite Warrior leads the other warriors.

Hunters&Huntresses
The Hunters and Huntresses are those who are responsible for hunting down food to feed the pack. They follow the command of the Elite Hunter/Huntress.

Warriors
The warriors are thsoe who have good fighting skills. They are often used in battle to the pack's advantage but are also responsible, when there is no battle, to make sure the pack lands are safe and drive off unwanted predators (bears, cougars, etc.)

Healer
The Healer is in charge of the Healer's Den and takes care of any wolves in the pack who are sick, injured or pregnant.
-Knowledge of Herbs&Saps
-Able to remain calm
-Good with others
-Usually 'motherly'(if a female) or kind

Nurse
The Nurse is in charge of the nursery and is the wolf who watches pups while the parents are out.
-Good with Pups

Envoy
The Envoy acts like a messenger between packs. He/she will often accompany the alpha when he/she goes to another pack's land or will go alone (under the alpha's instruction) if the alpha is busy.
-Good at remaining calm
-Good at controlling temper
-Fast runner
-Knows the Area well

Rover
The Rover's job is to find wolves who are looking to join a pack and who seem decent and get them to join. This wolf doesn't always have to be doign his job, especially when the pack gets really big.

Subsidiary
A Subsidiary is a wolf who has no rank and ends up doing little odds and ends- helping out here and there. He/She is usually one who is new to the pack or just out of puphood and has not recieved a rank yet.

Pup
Pups cannot have a rank other than 'pup' until they are one year old.

Elder
The Elders are the wolves who are too old to do much but are respected still and kept comforted by the rest of the pack. Usually packs with elders are older packs who have been thriving for a long time.

Guest
Guests are wolves who are not part of the pack but, for whatever reason, are staying with the pack for a little while.

Spurned
The spurned (also known as omega) wolf is one who is disliked by the alpha and generally the pack. Sometimes a wolf is merely subjecte dto the rank for a certainperiod of time, as punishment.

Loner
Loners are wolves who do not live in packs and who simply wader the free lands, hoping someone will find them and invite them into a pack.

Rouge
Rouges are loners who do not wish to be part of a pack and simply live in the freelands. They are said to be vicious and unfriendly and most have a solitary nature.

Sicknesses

Below are the differenet sicknesses common to the world of Lomehedge , their symptoms and their treatments (listed from most effective to least effective)

Common Cold

-Can be contagious depending on the severity

Symptoms:
-Coughing
-Running nose
-Feeling of Extreme Tiredness
-Lack of Interest in Engaging Activities
-Being Unable to Sleep

Treatments:
-Echinacea
-Garlic
-Burdock Root
-Cayenne
-Licorice
-Red Clover (will help coughing)

Fever

-CONTAGIOUS-

Symptoms:
-Feeling very hot but very cold at the same time
-Feeling very tired
-Hot forehead
-Not being able to be very active

Treatments:
-Feverfew
-Echinacea (will help strengthen the immune system)
-Burdock Root (will help strengthen the immune system)

Migraine

Symptoms:
-Pounding Headache
-Bright Light will hurt

Treatments:
-Feverfew
(Sleeping will help)
